The 14th Annual Gathering of Quilters
March- 2004
Anything your mind can conceive you can achieve. There is no better example
of this than "The Gathering" hosted by the Sisters of the Cloth this
past March. The Sisters of The Cloth Quilting Guild of Fort Wayne, Indiana,
with a membership of twenty or so, put on a fantastic show.
I was especially impressed with three aspects of the show. It began with the "gathering’s" famous
roll call. Some of the names of those guilds are more than a notion, but it
was good to see representation from so many guilds in the Midwest. Dr. Carolyn
Mazloomi, the guest speaker, spoke of Afrikan-American quilts and quilt making.
She was very informative, entertaining, and she presented a slide show of some
of the most beautiful quilts I have ever seen. Last but not least, the Sisters
of the Cloth had a wonderful display of quilts. The array of creativity with
the various themes and colors was a sight to behold. For those of you who missed
this spectacular event, you can check out their web site and see some of their
work. (SistersoftheCloth@group.msn.com)
Hats off to you, Sisters of the Cloth, you are fantastic!!!
