Traveling Quilt Exhibit
The Great Lakes African-American Quilter's Network, GLAAQN, is a regional
organization comprised of quilters, seamstress, tailors, and other types of
textile artist from the Great Lakes States. They have a traveling quilt exhibit
that I had the pleasure of viewing July 2004 at the Ann Arbor Quilt Show. The
exhibit was truly fabulous. The unique designs, the variety of colors, and
the way they embellished those eleven or so quilts was a sight to behold. Seeing
such creativity was food for the soul and quite inspirational to a novice quilter
like myself.
I was so impressed that I asked if I could display them on this Website and
you can access them in the gallery section. As you probably already know, pictures
can raely capture the true beauty of a work of art. So, if you like the pictures
imagine the beauty of the real deal. If you would like to have this exhibit
at your show contact Wanda Nash at wnash@quiltthings.com.
